Easter/Autumn Picnic 2023
The annual Autumn Picnic was conducted in the Australian Light Horse Memorial Park Seymour, due to the unavailability of our usual venue – The Army Tank Museum. Unfortunately we were unable to hold our normal remembrance service for our WWII armoured comrades. The attendance was to say the least, disappointing, as the early morning showers kept the faint hearts away. However, by the time the bangers and track pads were sizzling, the day turned out pretty fine with the Sun breaking through the overcast. The annual Easter Egg hunt was a real hit as the limited number of youngsters enjoyed a huge bounty!
The following members and guests were in attendance: Peter Branagan, Glen, Meaghan, Hannah and Connor Johnstone, Alexis and Hunter Purcell with Ruby Cox. Andrew and Jenny Clark. Craig Burn. Ian Smith. Lisa, Shane and Sophie Crosbie. Rob Toy and Linda Boleche.

Amongst the photos is the horse box in situ at Light Horse Park, Seymour. Laying on the grass in the foreground are remnants of a station canopy recovered from the former Spencer Street Station which were proposed to be erected over the horse box in its original location at the Tank Museum. Unfortunately for a variety of reasons, this never occurred, hopefully the new custodians will put that situation right.

March Easter/Autumn Picnic 2021
As usual at the Autumn Picnic held at the Tank Museum each year, Welfare Officer Rod Westgarth (left) was on bar-b-que duty. He is seen here ‘chewing the fat’ with member David White. Bending the ear of Kev Hunter in the background is Membership Officer Rob ‘Dinky’ Toy. Possibly as a result of having to cancel last year; numbers this year were well up on previous picnics. The kid’s traditional Easter egg hunt was a highlight and the Easter Bunny found some very novel spots to hide his wares amongst the many AFV exhibits!

March Easter/Autumn Picnic 2019
The 2019 annual picnic was held at the Army Tank Museum on Sunday, 31 March 2019. and conducted in conjunction with the 1st Armoured Regiment Association who had organised an Open Day. The combined activity was a huge success with over 300 members and visitors passing through the gate! Our chefs par excellence Rod and Sharon Westgarth were unfazed by the crowd size and produced their quality bangers and track pads in far greater quantities than usual.Great credit to the museum staff and volunteers who worked extremely hard during the week prior to ensure the display of Vietnam era vehicles (many of them running) was first class. More information on the day is in the June 2019 issue of Track and in photos posted in this website gallery.
